College Admissions Workshops

Returning for 2026, our annual College Admissions Workshop series routinely empowers attendees to make a strong start to admissions season.

Students receive 1-on-1 guidance to brainstorm, draft, and review compelling personal statements. Our counselors also cover student’s questions about the Common App, supplemental essays, student resumes, and more.

Workshop Overview

One of our flagship services for rising Seniors, The Learning Curve’s College Admissions Workshops have empowered students from the Lake Norman area to successful college admissions seasons for nearly 10 years. Our workshops provide attendees with personalized instruction on preparing their Common App Personal Statement, the admissions essay required of all college applicants. We also offer guidance on what to expect with school-specific supplemental essays. Students routinely leave the Workshop with a drafted, revised, and finalized essay that has been fully vetted and copy-edited by our English Coordinator, Thomas Simonson.

Additionally, students who finalize their personal statement during the Workshop will receive guidance on additional admissions topics they most need help with, such as resume preparation, essays on extracurriculars, hardship/obstacle statements, diversity essays, school interest statements, and scholarship essays!
